E-Democracy
Information and communications technologies are becoming increasingly common in the provision of government services and information, and in electronic consultations and voting. Our research is studying:
-
how the accessibility requirements of people with disabilities were (or were not) incorporated in two recent on-line federal government e-consultations
-
how the Canadian disability community has used e-consultations for policy development
From this research, we will describe:
-
ways future government e-consultations can be more inclusive of people with disabilities
-
how emerging information and communications technologies can be used to develop the capacity of the disability community in Canada
